Beyond the professional aspects of the job, modern policing demands resilience, discipline, teamwork, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Field simulations training ensures police recruits are equipped with important attributes, preparing them effectively for the real-world duties.
This morning, Interior and National Administration CS Kipchumba Murkomen visited the AP, Administration Police Service Field Training Camp in Lii, Mutuati Sub-County, Meru County. Kipchumba Murkomen commissioned the new training facility, as well as launched the field simulation training for the first cohort of 2,000 recruits. Besides, he also received a briefing on the progress of ongoing security operations against banditry in the region. Below is what he had to say.

“I am pleased to report that the security operations we launched two months ago to mop up illegal firearms and curb banditry in Laikipia, Isiolo, Samburu, and Meru counties have borne fruit. So far, we have recovered 55 firearms, 382 rounds of ammunition, 770 head of cattle, 1,336 sheep and goats, 20 camels, and two donkeys.”
“To consolidate these gains, we are constructing security roads in banditry-prone areas, intensifying security and peace engagements, and, in the coming months, operationalizing gazetted administrative units.”
“We are grateful to the people and the County Government of Meru for donating land for the camp, constructing access roads, and drilling a borehole. This partnership is critical in addressing insecurity in the area and enhancing service delivery.”
“I was accompanied by IG Douglas Kanja, DIG-APS Gilbert Masengeli, PAS Beverly Opwora, Meru County Commissioner Jacob Ouma, among other senior officials. Local leaders present were Meru County Governor Isaac Mutuma, Igembe North MP Julius Taitumu and a host of MCAs.”
